From Galaxies to Atoms, a Vast Web of Fitness for Life
On this episode of ID the Future from the archive, host Eric Anderson begins a conversation with biochemist Michael Denton about Denton’s 2020 book The Miracle of the Cell, part of his continuing Privileged Species series exploring nature’s fine tuning for life. New research keeps unveiling ever more ways in which this fine tuning exists, from the cosmos to the atoms of the periodic table, and even to the subatomic level of quantum tunneling. Says Denton: "The miracle of the cell completes the overall fitness paradigm that unites galaxies with atoms in a vast web of fitness for life."
This is Part 1 of a two-part conversation.

We know that DNA contains information that is vital for life, but our DNA is constantly assaulted by chemical and physical processes, degrading its information content-threatening the ongoing existence of life. How do our cells prevent information degradation in our DNA? This video reviews the highly complex error-correction mechanisms in cells that help maintain the information in our DNA so l...
Bijan Nemati on the Search for Habitable Planets
Переглядів 1,1 тис.14 годин тому
One of the most exciting areas of space research is the search for Earth-like planets around other stars. Since the first discovery some 30 years ago, thousands of exoplanets have been identified and catalogued, but the vast majority bear little resemblance to Earth and would not be conducive to even simple life, much less large organisms such as ourselves. However, during the same 30 years, pl...

Casey Luskin Reflects on His Recent Junk DNA Debate

For decades we were told that non-coding regions of our DNA are littered with evolutionary junk. But in recent years, numerous discoveries have revealed that function is the rule, not the exception, in the genome. On this episode of ID The Future, Casey Luskin reflects with host Jonathan McLatchie about his recent debate over junk DNA with Rutgers University evolutionary biology professor Dr. D...

Your 5 PhD's are incredibly ill informed. They don't know that at 2:40 this video sets up a logical fallacy called "An Argument from Incredulity". It means, "I don't understand how "x" [cell repair, for example, could happen], therefore . . . some made up magic answer." [The answer comes later in the video. Wait for it. . . . god. Boy am I surprised!] This is a high school level ignorance. No one has been demonstrated to have 'planned' how anything "should be". The life that exist now is the life that survived and outcompeted the life that did not survive. One does not have to be a rocket scientist to understand this. Most inadvertent changes to our DNA is harmful. What survives are the changes that were benign or the few changes that were beneficial. I couldn't get to the 5 minute mark. . . this is so juvenile and misinformed.

God on the day before Day One (not Day Zero as Zero came from the Hindus via the Muslims): "I want to create a Universe to host human life and I need a whole set of arbitrary constants to accomplish this task. Some of these constants must be extremely precise with very low tolerances." God several thousand years later, "I am authoring a book of Scripture, infallible. What value of Pi should I use? An integer seems fine. 3 will do!"

Many scientists sadly lack humility. They kinda know that there's a lot of stuff we don't know, they just can't act on it very well, so when some theory gets out there, they treat it like the absolute truth.

I think the analogy of finding a knock knock joke inscribed on a rock does not go far enough. It's not "merely" that an author must exist, but an entire language must exist. The letters and words of the joke are just parts of a larger whole not visible on the rock. Those words dont exist in isolation. Not to mention the syntax, grammar and punctuation of the language, without which the joke would be unintelligible. The relationship and concept of nouns, verbs and adjectives must exist. These are meta-data of the joke itself and must also be explained as to their origin. There is an *abstract* layer of meta information, and chance or physical laws are supposed to have generated this?

Evolution never happened. In order to have a machine you have to have a Machinist. In order for something to be designed there has to be a Designer. In order for something to be created there must be a Creator. Stop the nonsense. Evolution never happened.

I like this video because it makes each case as loyal and hard on the other theory as possible. The flagellum case was definitely something that convinced me back then, but I'm not so sure now. But really, a JUDGE settling the science?! Alarm bells should have gone off like nothing else. That kind of thing is bs unless PROOF can be provided and demonstrated beyond any doubt. I understand the needle argument, and I can empathize with those preferring it, but let's not forget that the scientists who prefer that explanation on the naturalist side also did not demonstrate anything but that they had FAITH that the needle COULD have become the entire, more complex flagellum. No hard proof was provided that this evolution DID take place. Which is why the judge should have recused himself and said that since none of scientists on either side has provided incontrovertible proof, they'd just have to duke it out in the academic arena - and perhaps just tell teach the kids that none of them possess the Absolute Incontrovertible Truth on this one.

This issue is METAPHYSICS. Metaphysics matters. If you’re an Evolutionist or accept the “billions of years” ASSUMPTION regarding TIME, you’ve started your thinking using the metaphysical assumption of 18th-century Issac Newton…and you’re likely not aware of the fact because it seems so common sense intuitive.

Love the line “this is all oversimplified baby talk of course- the actual mechanics of how these work is far more complex than what we can convey here” If I’m not mistaken, militant atheistic scientists talk mostly baby talk, dressed up with long words.

Brain and Mind are connected but separate. Subconscious is a part of Mind and part of Brain, but mostly Mind. Consciousness, self-awareness, awareness of others is mostly Mind, while instincts like self-preservation are mostly Brain. Conscience, on the other hand, was not something Adam and Eve were created with. Conscience means 'with knowledge' and was the consequence of eating the forbidden fruit.🎓 Mind = Soul😇
